ANCA's new logo, the most prominent and visible aspect of our ongoing effort to improve the marketing of our organization, was debuted at our October convention. Our original logo was designed in 1978 by one of the members of what was then RANCA, the Retired Army Nurse Corps Association, our original incarnation. It had remained the same since then with only a slight modification in 2000 when the organization dropped the "Retired" and became open to all Army Nurse Corps officers. This year we enlisted the help of one of San Antonio's foremost advertising firms, The Wood Agency, to develop the new design. Knowing that it was originally developed by an Army nurse, we formed a small team of ANCA leaders to ensure that the new logo was in line with our values. It included quite a process that involved asking about 100 members across all five categories of members to vote on two finalists. We also went particularly to our long-term members to ask their opinions. Finally, a new logo was selected! We believe it is a good representation of today's ANCA.
