Advocacy outreach by retired military nurses is urgently needed now to help save the TriService Nursing Research Program (TSNRP). Established by Congress in 1996, TSNRP is the country’s first and only DoD program that supports military nursing research by military nurses. It has been part of the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS), but USUHS is now eliminating funding for TSNRP because of budget cuts.
It is important for retired and former military nurses and civilian friends to contact their Senator, members of the Defense Appropriations Committee, and the nurses in Congress through letters and email to express their concern about the potential loss of funded military nursing research.
