Coming up next in ANCA's Virtual Speaker Series on Saturday, 31 January at 1600 Hrs. Eastern time, Dr. Allison Finkelstein, Senior Arlington National Cemetery Historian, will introduce us to Jane Delano, an amazing woman to whom we owe much of the existence of the Army Nurse Corps. A tireless nursing advocate, Ms. Delano almost simultaneously assumed four demanding roles. In 1908, she became the President of the Bellevue Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Association and President, of the Board of Directors of the American Journal of Nursing. Then in 1909 she became the Chairwoman of the American Red Cross Nursing Service and the Superintendent of the Army Nurse Corps. We stand on the shoulders of the amazing nurses who came before us.
