The Bagin Lecture was established from a gift bequeathed by the late Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Isabelle Bagin, AN to the Army Nurse Corps Association. This legacy gift specified that it be directed toward nursing education activities and scholarly purposes. In collaboration with the Daniel K. Inouye Graduate School of Nursing of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda, MD, the lecture was established as an annual event. The goal of the lectureship is to support a nationally recognized nurse scientist to speak on a military-related topic that would benefit military and civilian nursing students and professional nurses at USUHS, WRNMMC and the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center.
