The purpose of the Army Nurse Corps Association Scholarship Program is to award scholarships to U.S. citizen students attending accredited baccalaureate or graduate nursing or anesthesia nursing programs.

Captain Bruce K. Clark The 2013 scholarships will be awarded in memory of Captain Bruce Kevin Clark, Army Nurse Corps. In May 2012, while deployed to to Tarin Kowt, Afghanistan in support of US and coalition forces, he lost his life due to noncombat-related causes. Captain Clark joined the US Army in 2006 after completing his baccalaureate in nursing at The College of Brockport, State University of New York. He served at Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii, and at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, El Paso, Texas, before his deployment. ANCA salutes Captain Clark for his patriotic service and sacrifice for his country.

Eligibility Criteria

* Currently enrolled baccalaureate or advanced degree nursing or nurse anesthesia students who are serving or have previously served in any branch of a component of the US Army (Active Army, Army National Guard and Army Reserve)
* Army Nurse Corps officers in a component of the US Army enrolled in a baccalaureate or advanced degree nursing or nurse anesthesia program not funded by a component of the US Army
* Enlisted soldiers serving in a component of the US Army enrolled in a baccalaureate or advanced degree nursing or nurse anesthesia program not funded by a component of the US Army
* Nursing or anesthesia students whose spouse or either parent is serving or has served in a component of the US Army

General Information

SGT Gregory Bresnehan, USAR, University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh (click for video of his scholarship presentation)The 2013 ANCA scholarships will be $3,000 per selected applicant. All applications must be submitted on the 2013 form by 31 March 2013 and will be reviewed by the ANCA Education Committee. Selected students will be notified within a few weeks thereafter. Scholarship funds are sent to the school to be managed for the student and not sent directly to the student.

The Army Nurse Corps Association does not have an official relationship with the US Army, the Army Nurse Corps University of Missouri Sinclair School of Nursing Professor Jane Armer. PhD; 2012 scholarship recipient Rhonda Miller;  and Professor Deb Gayer, PhD, LTC, AN, USAR (Ret.)or the Reserve Officer Training Corps.
